About Covid Testing
Covid Testing is offered through Golden State Urology (GSU) in multiple walk-up and drive thru locations in the Bay Area, Sacramento County, and San Joaquin County in California.
All reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests for SARS-CoV2 (COVID-19) are completed through the GSU Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA)-certified pathology lab. The RT-PCR test is FDA EUA-approved. Dr. Prithipal Sethi is the Founder and Medical Director of GSU.

FAQ
How is my sample for testing collected?
While you remain in the vehicle, you will be given a swab and asked to collect a sample of nasal secretions. This is done by inserting the swab into your nostril approximately 1 inch into the nasal passage (midway) with the most visible drainage or the nostril that is most congested if drainage is not present. The swab is rotated several times, removed gently, and this process is repeated on the other side. Please note that you need to administer your own swab or bring someone that can do it for you.
How and when will I get results?
Results are returned within 24-48 of specimen collection (rapid testing locations are limited). When your results are ready, we’ll email you a link to view them in the patient portal you created when you set up your testing appointment.
Do I need an appointment or can I walk-in?
Yes, you can only test with a testing appointment.
Do I need a referral from a medical professional?
No, you do not need a referral for testing.
We do not accept your insurance information, but most insurers or employers will reimburse you for the cost of the testing if you provide the receipt for your tests (this will immediately get sent to your email upon payment)
How old can a patient be to get a COVID-19 test?
Patients must be age 10 or older to register for COVID-19 testing. A parent or legal guardian must complete this registration for all minor patients (Nebraska: a minor is anyone under age 19). Patients 10-15 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who may need to assist with sample collection using the swab.
What if I miss my appointment?
You can reschedule your appointment online free of cost 24 hours prior to your appointment. If you do not show up to your testing appointment or try to reschedule in less than 24 hours, only 25% of your testing fee will be refunded.
Can I bring someone with me or should I come alone?
We understand that you may need to bring someone with you; however, only patients who have qualified and scheduled a visit online can be tested.
Is this a drive up or drive thru COVID testing site?
Walk-up by appointment only, no drive-thru currently.
Is this a walk up or walk in COVID testing location?
Yes, our Stockton testing site offers you a walk-in or walk-up option but by appointment only.
Will I get same-day testing results?
Test results are fast and given within 24 hours at our Stockton site, but we cannot guarantee you will receive your results the same day. Scheduling an appointment early in the morning might allow you to receive same-day results.
Is this PCR COVID test for travel?

2- Payment
Complete your test appointment by providing a payment method.
3-Test & Email
You will receive a text and email reminder about your upcoming test appointment.
4-Testing
Drive or walk up to your chosen testing site (signs will be provided). This will be a contact-less appointment in which you will be provided a testing nasal swab, which you will self-administer. You will then return your specimen to the testing site attendant.
5-Results
You will receive a text and email notifying you of your results within 24-48 hours. Log into your patient portal provided in your text or email to view your results and following protocol, if necessary.
